about march produce
We are officially entering the season of transition from winter to spring! It’s usually the end of February that I start itching to get my hands on spring ingredients from berries to delicate greens and so much more.
I start to get bored with the hearty root vegetables that I’ve been eating for months and months…
The truth is, I have bad news and good news. The bad news is, we are still in a transition month, so spring’s bounty of vegetables and fruits won’t be seen until the latter half of the month.
The good news is, there are a handful of new ingredients that are in season all month long which will help bring some vibrancy to those hearty ingredients that you’ve come to rely on all winter long.
So even though we aren’t going to be making a triple berry cobbler tomorrow, we can enjoy fruits like pineapple, kiwi, and kumquats in the meantime! Not to mention the fact that artichokes are now in season, which gives me so much excitement, I can barely contain myself.
Let’s dive into the March produce guide!
