An Easter Charcuterie Board is just the spring inspired spread to serve at your upcoming holiday. Filled with a variety of meats and cheeses, fresh berries, vegetables, jelly beans, chocolate, and even deviled eggs! This board is simple, straightforward, and perfect for any gathering you have planned.
about this easter charcuterie board
Creating seasonal charcuterie boards has become one of my new passions in life, so of course I had to pull together a spring-inspired feast for Easter!
From classic Easter snacks like deviled eggs, jelly beans, and mini chocolate eggs, to your favorite charcuterie board ingredients like hearty meats and aged cheeses, this board is everything you need for an Easter gathering. While the kids are hunting easter eggs or opening up an easter basket from the easter bunny, you can pull together this spread of fresh fruits, veggies, treats, and more.
Really, you could use this board for any springtime party! It has all the seasonal elements you need.
The best part? It’s a no-cook option that requires only basic prep to pull together. This is what makes it ideal for hosting, as well as bringing to a party!
Honestly, the beauty of this board is the combination of sweet, salty, crunchy, and creamy. There’s something for everyone on this board.
Encourage guests to make their own flavor combinations and try out different elements together. For me, this is the ultimate centerpiece for a party. So much better than a vase full of flowers, right? It’s the ultimate combination of savory and sweet for your Easter celebration!
types of cheese for an easter cheese board
Hard cheese. Use a range of hard cheeses for this board. Parmigiano reggiano or any robust hard cheese works best. We like to add an aged variety because of the intensified flavors!
Common cheese. Gouda, cheddar (particularly white cheddar), or jack cheese are ideal. A common cheese is one of the more basic cheeses to pick, so select something familiar that everyone will love.
Soft cheese. You don’t always have to add a soft cheese, but I find goat cheese to be quite delicious. In this case, we decided to mix up soft goat cheese with freshly chopped basil (about 3 tsp for 4 ounces) and then form it into an egg shape to get in the Easter theme. You could also use brie or mozzarella in any form.
Funky cheese. We didn’t add a funky cheese to this board, but you could add it in if you like! Camembert, stilton, or a mild blue cheese are pungent offerings to incorporate.

here’s what you’ll need
A charcuterie board can essentially have whatever you want on it, as long as there is a combination of meats and cheeses. So let’s break down all the easter charcuterie board ideas, shall we?
Here’s what we suggest using:
Cheeses. Use a minimum of 3 different types of cheese. You can even bump this up to 5 or 6, if you prefer more variety.
Meats. You’ll need at least 3 different types of cured meats for flavor variation. Pick the few that you like the most! You can even select a pack of charcuterie meats at the local grocery store so you don’t have to choose.
Crackers. A variety crack box is always my go to for a charcuterie board! You can get more specific with your choices, if you prefer. You can also add in other crunchy snacks like pretzels if you want! Another option is toasted slices of baguette.
Fruit. Make sure to use seasonal springtime fruit. Strawberries, blackberries, apples, oranges, grapefruit, kiwi, grapes, and more are all in season around the Easter holiday.
Vegetables. A variety of spring vegetables are perfect for a spring-inspired board. Fresh asparagus, thinly sliced radishes, cucumbers, carrots, and more make this board well-rounded.
Extras. Jams, honey, compotes, and more! Grab crunchy nuts like cashews, pistachios, almonds, or walnuts. Pickles like pickled carrots are perfect for spring! You can also use gherkins or any other pickled vegetable. Deviled eggs are a fun addition too, since you are likely already planning on making then for the holiday! Easter candies are also a must from chocolate eggs to jelly beans to Peeps. We also like to add a compound butter, like a lemon honey butter!
this recipe’s must haves
You can use a custom charcuterie board, or simply pull out a cutting board like this large cutting board! This is my go-to since I don’t like buying a platter for just one occasion.
Prep the elements with a chef’s knife and a separate cutting board.
here’s how to assemble an easter charcuterie board
add bowls
Add bowls first, since they are the biggest items. This makes it a lot easier to work around the items and fill the board in. Fill the bowls with jam, honey, candy, nuts, and whatever else you think should be served in small bowls.
add meats
Now for the variety of meats! They can be presented easily in a row of slices, but you can also fan them out, bundle the prosciutto into piles, and even create a salami rose if you are feeling creative.
add cheeses
Prep the cheeses before you add them to the board. This means you should take care of the slicing, crumbling, and chopping ahead of time. I like to slice up hard cheeses like gouda so they are easy to take off the plate. You can also cut harder cheeses into cubes to give some variety.
add fruit
Add in the fruits to fill in bigger open areas still on the board. Make sure to thinly slice harder fruits like apple so they are easy to add to crackers with cheese.
add extras
Now it’s time to fill in the final spots with extras! From pickles to dried fruit and more, fill in any bigger holes.
fill in where you need to
If you happen to have any little open spots at this point, you can add in other candies or fresh herbs to fill out the board. You could even add edible flowers!
tips and ideas
prep ahead. There are lots of different elements that can be prepped ahead of time. You can make pickled carrots, slice cheese, make jams, and more. Store each prepared element separately to easily add to the board when you are ready to serve it. Do not slice any fruits that could turn brown when exposed to the air, like apple.
pay attention to colors. Pay attention to where all the colors are landing on the board. Try to vary them throughout so that green isn’t next to green, red isn’t next to red, etc.
keep it simple. Keeping things simple is always best. You don’t have to go over-the-top! Keep the flavor combinations simple. You can pick up extra expensive aged meats and cheeses if you choose, but there’s no need to break the bank to make this tasty spread.
don’t stress about it! Don’t get too stressed about making the board look perfect. Whenever I am putting together a board, it’s all about starting with the largest items to the smallest. This is what makes it easy to fill in the holes at the end. You can even overlap the ingredients! The point is to make the board look full and abundant. This is the one trick to make sure that the board looks gorgeous. The food will do the work for you!
remember the serving tools. Be sure to include serving tools like cheese knives, toothpicks, and little spoons to make it easier for guests to remove items from the board.

what fruits can you put on this board?
Easter can come in late March to mid-April, so there’s a variety of fruits to choose from! We like to use berries like strawberries and blueberries. You can also use apple, oranges, grapefruit, kiwi, pineapple, and more. We think that a maximum of 4 different types of fruit is plenty for a board like this.
how long can this board sit out?
Want an easy tip for your Easter charcuterie board? Serve the meats and cheeses at room temperature.
Of course, you can only let those meats and cheeses sit out for so long. Do not let the board sit out for more than 2 hours total time. Once you hit 2 hours, package up remaining meats, cheeses, and fresh produce to store separately in containers in the refrigerator.
how do I decorate an easter charcuterie board?
When decorating an easter charcuterie board, we like to add in a little extra Easter candy into the mix. A few peeps is an easy option, but you could also add chocolate bunnies as another option.
You can also use fresh herbs and greens to decorate your charcuterie board!
how much should I plan on per person?
This particular board served about 6 to 8, if you are serving it as an appetizer. If you plan to serve this board as a meal, it serves about 4 to 6. For the nitty gritty on how to plan portions for a gathering:
You will need about 3 ounces of meat and cheese per person for an appetizer.
If your board is a main dish, increase that amount to 6 ounces of meat and cheese per person.
These amounts are just for the meats and cheeses, so keep that in mind as you plan your extras.

what to serve with an easter charcuterie board
This Easter charcuterie board serves as an excellent grazing board, whether it’s an appetizer or a main grazing platter to enjoy. You can serve it alongside your favorite appetizers or cocktails! Try a fruity blackberry mojito, a bubbly strawberry rhubarb gin fizz, or whip up an easy champagne sangria to serve a crowd. Any of these bright and vibrant lemon cocktails are also a winner!
how to store
Store. Store any leftovers in separate containers to keep the ingredients fresh. Refrigerate any cheeses, meats, vegetables, and fruits. I usually just add any jams or honey back to their original containers.
