I introduce to you, the perfect last-minute Christmas gift…
Now I know what you are thinking – don’t infused vodkas take at least a couple of days at minimum before they are finished?
Haha exactly! I, my lovely friends, have found a way to get around that nasty little problem of waiting. I mean, we are already being so patient waiting for Santa to come down the chimney, so why be patient for something as easy as peppermint vodka?
This recipe will take you about 5 minutes to complete and it’ll be ready to drink in about 15 minutes after that. How easy is that?!?!
It’s almost as easy as devouring some cookies and hot cocoa…
Speaking of hot cocoa, it becomes especially fantastic when you add a dash of this peppermint vodka…. YUM.
So if you are one of those last minute shoppers (don’t feel bad, I am totally that person… If only Santa could come help me out…) and you are trying to find the perfect gift fast, run out this weekend and grab some vodka, candy canes, and a some small bottles. Voila! Instant Christmas cheer in a bottle!
Or you could just use one big bottle and keep it all to yourself… Not like I would do that…
Peppermint Vodka
ingredients
- 12 peppermint candy canes
- 1 750 ml bottle of vodka
instructions
- Unwrap the candy canes and add the to a food processor. Process until the candy canes become a fine dust (don't inhale when you open the cover or prepare for an intense coughing attack that has a minty burn!). If you don't have a food processor, add the candy canes to a large ziploc bag and grind into a powder with a meat tenderizer (the smooth side!) or roll with a rolling pin.
- Add the candy cane dust to vodka in a pitcher and stir. Allow to sit for at least 15 minutes and then strain. Bottle the vodka in small bottles or one large bottle.
