If you’re throwing a summer party or need a drink you can make ahead of time that goes with any meal, this white sangria is the perfect choice. Easy to customize and beautifully versatile, it’s a drink you’ll revisit over and over.
about this white sangria
If you don’t know by now, I LOVE me a sangria! The warmer weather is around the corner, and I am getting a fruity, crisp, and refreshing vibe from this drink. It’s a bright cocktail that combines a citrusy base, fresh seasonal fruits, and dry white wine into one pitcher of absolute summer perfection.
This is one of my favorite go-tos for entertaining. With each sip, you’ll enjoy the perfect balance of sweet and tart from a blend of fresh oranges, lemons, and limes paired with juicy fruits like peaches, apples, and strawberries.
The trick is to give the sangria time to chill. With at least four hours (preferably up to 24) in the fridge, the fruits and wine blend together, creating a gorgeous medley of flavors.
You can prepare it ahead of time, leaving you free to enjoy your own party without fussing over last-minute drink prep. It’s minimal effort, max flavor.
ingredients
Oranges. Juice it for the base and add a few slices for visual appeal (and added flavor).
Lemons and Limes. These add the perfect tartness and sharp citrus notes.
Peaches or Nectarines. Ripe but firm, so they hold their shape when sliced.
Apple. Adds a sweet, crisp texture. Use your favorite variety. We recommend Granny Smith or Honeycrisp.
Strawberries. These go in just before serving to maintain their vibrant color and texture.
White wine. Look for a fruity and light dry bottle of white wine such as Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc, which works exceptionally well.
Brandy (or orange liqueur). This elevates the citrus flavors for a full-bodied sangria.
Simple Syrup. This is a combination of equal parts sugar and water, melted together and cooled. It’s the perfect way to add sweetness without altering the taste.
this recipe’s must-haves
To keep things easy and quick, make sure you have a few essential items on hand. A chef’s knife is perfect for slicing fruits, while a stable cutting board is a must for handling all the chopping involved.
You’ll also need a large pitcher to hold everything comfortably and a long wooden spoon to mix it all together, helping those fruity flavors infuse into the liquid.
here’s how to make this white sangria
Making this white sangria recipe is incredibly simple and low-stress. Here are the instructions on how to make it.
Juice the orange
Juice your orange into your large pitcher. Stir in the cooled simple syrup to balance the tartness.
Add the fruit
Toss in your sliced lemons, limes, peaches, and chopped apple. Give everything a gentle stir so it’s evenly mixed.
Pour the wine
Combine the wine with the fruit mixture, followed by the brandy. Stir again to combine.
Chill
Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for at least four hours. This is where the magic happens as the flavors meld together.
Top and enjoy
Just before serving, add sliced strawberries for a pop of color and freshness. Stir one last time.
Serve over glasses filled with ice, and prepare for the compliments to roll in.
tips and tricks
Pre-chill your wine. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference in keeping your sangria nicely chilled, especially in warm weather.
Choose the right peaches. Use peaches or nectarines that are ripe but still firm. This ensures they maintain their texture without turning into mush.
Add strawberries last. No one loves soft or soggy strawberries. Throw them in just before serving for a fresh, vibrant texture.
Cool your syrup completely. If you’re making your own homemade simple syrup, make sure it’s cooled to room temperature before mixing it in. You don’t want to warm up your sangria!

variations
Use frozen berries instead of ice cubes to keep your drink cool without watering it down. It also looks beautiful in the glass!
Garnish with fresh herbs like mint or basil for an extra pop of flavor and visual flair.
Add a touch of fizz by pouring up to a cup of sparkling water or club soda into the pitcher right before serving. It’s great for a lighter, bubbly version.
Swap in seasonal fresh fruit depending on what time of year it is. Plums or apricots work well in summer, while pears with a cinnamon stick are fantastic in fall. Just add in your favorite fruit.
Experiment with apple varieties. Granny Smith apples will bring more tartness, while Honeycrisp adds natural sweetness.
Go heavier on the citrus by replacing brandy with Cointreau or Grand Marnier for an intensified orange flavor.
